Dimitrov loses 5-set thriller at Wimbledon, Rising star Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria bowed out of Wimbledon in the second round after losing a thrilling five-set match over two days against Grega Zemlja of Slovenia. With girlfriend Maria Sharapova watching in the stands on Court 3, the 29th-seeded Dimitrov, tipped by many as the next big thing in tennis, saved five match points before Zemlja finally seized his chance with a forehand passing shot down the line and won 3-6, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 on Friday. Their match had been suspended because of rain on Thursday, with Zemlja 9-8 up in the decider. Zemlja achieved his best result at the All England Club by reaching the third round and will next play Juan Martin del Potro. Also, Britain’s Laura Robson beat Colombia’s Mariana Duque-Marino 6-4, 6-1 under the closed roof on Centre Court to reach the third round.
