Dinghy Weeks 2014 Dear Members, To the Sailors: Well today - TopicsExpress

Dinghy Weeks 2014 Dear Members, To the Sailors: Well today saw the end of Dinghy Weeks once again. It was an event hampered by bad weather, but it was also an event where we would see the level of ability and confidence rise in our sailors too. All of you who have participated should be very proud of your achievements in the last two weeks. Remember, there are real serious opportunities ahead moving into the autumn, so take advantage of these and get down to the sailing club and continue from where you left off this week! To the Volunteers: Your efforts and dedication (Even to those who do not have any children participating in Dinghy Weeks) are a real credit to the sailing club and indeed the sport. I thank everyone, no matter how little your contribution. These weeks require serious volunteer input and once again I believe we have seriously achieved this through the great planning and willingness of each of you. – Thank you! I announced today at the prize giving that I will now be standing down from being involved in Dinghy Weeks from this year and further to this I publicly made it known that I will now also be standing down as Commodore at the next Annual General Meeting. This is the time of the year where I ask members to give serious thought on how you want to be involved in our club going into the 2015 sailing season. There are many members who have a lot to offer with a serious level of expertise. If you feel you can offer more and want to be a part of the management and running of our sailing club, I want to hear from you. For now, a couple of weeks down time to recoup from Dinghy Weeks and then its sparking back into action to start preparing the club’s annual budgets, projects and AGM so that we are good to go for the 2015 season. My very best wishes to all of you. Luke Morrison Commodore Hill Head Sailing Club
