Dinner cooked in the oven tonight. Picture one, the vent-a-hood above the oven/range with my bachelor warning and my protective gargoyle. Normal smoke alarms are not recommended in the kitchen. However picture two, a smoke alarm with a hush button which I marked with red dot is strategically located on the ceiling by the kitchen foyer. Tonight, the oven timer was set, but the smoke alarm sounded prematurely to remind me that while the food was not done, but that my oven needs cleaning. The hush button is only about 3 inches above my finger reach so I grab something to help reach it. Once hushed it will chirp about every minute for about 10 minutes since hushed. Now that it is winter and I use my oven more ... It occurred to me that I could super-glue a 4 inch extension onto the hush button, or better yet, I do an oven cleaning. I have protective gargoyles strategically placed in my kitchen, above my kitchen pantry, over my range/oven, on my refrigerator, and above my kitchen sink for food prep. I suppose the protective gargoyles have served us well for years for the three of us on our own, for myself, my Daughter, and my Son.
