Dinner today, Bong Style ! Simple and flavorful! Recipes updated in the main post! CaL has given me immense regard for my work and cant thank each and everyone of you who liked my work, tried soooo many of my recipes, fed me with the reviews and gave me so much love and motivation to do better and venture unknown. Bengali cuisine had been one such mystery for me so far. Ritu Patnaik Mohanty was the first one who made me look through the beautiful and gorgeous array of the cuisine. Though she is from Odisha Gharana but panch phoron was first introduced to me by her :).Then came Anindita Chakravarty Bhattacharya and her food, spreads and gup shup allured me more into the Bengali cuisine. Simple and full of flavor. Manjari, Poorna, Smritilekha, Monalisa and Saranis posts kept reminding me that this is a cuisine, I have to get my hands into... Thanks to all the girls there that I mustered my courage and cooked 2 dishes today ! 1. Eggplants cooked in mustard oil and Panch Phoron spices. 2. Kalo morich aloor dum : recipe by Anindita ! Review : Speechless! Amit and the girls loved Alor Dum and I could not stop eating the Eggplant in panch phoron. The panch phoron recipe is also courtesy Andy!
