Dinosaurs still roam the CN Dundas Sub ! I was down at Brantford, ON today for a short outing and shot a westbound which I heard meeting an eastbound a few miles west of me. Youve got the pick of the litter there came over the radio as the two trains conversed. Now I knew what I had just seen didnt fit the bill and commented to my friend Harry that when you hear a comment like that it often means one of the trains has something notable on the head-end. Well, in true fashion a very rare SD40-2 (W) showed up leading what I figure was 434s very short train. In all of 2014 I only saw three of these on many, many CN trains so I was happy to get CNs second oldest and arguably worst looking unit of the group CN 5242 on the point. Trailing was CN 2170, ex ATSF 817 long past its glory days as a Santa Fe Warbonnet.
