Dion Mindykowskis post about accepting help got me thinking. Dion, I totally respect your race choices. They are much different than mine. Not only did i accept help, I looked to cut corners and save time/energy whenever possible. Like everything in DR, it is a metaphor for life. I am often looking for the easiest/fastest way out. It serves me in life sometimes, but it also costs me in life at other times. In terms of the Death Race, some say its all a part of the gamesmanship. Some disagree. I recently did a GORUCK where many participants and the instructors often said If you aint cheatin, you aint tryin. I said that to a friend at one point when he was exhausting himself on a particular task at this GORUCK, (that others were skipping or not doing as hard), my friend said I dont believe that. Would like to hear from my Death Race brothers and sisters. Do you cut corners in DR? In Life? Did you used to be one way or the other and then switched?
