Director K-m Doyle has taken on the hit play Summer Wonderland. Hope you can make it to one of the shows in November. Lots of creative talent on the stage at Milton Theatre... The Milton Follies’ production, Summer Wonderland, reveals that life in a suburban Aussie cul-de-sac can get a little crazy at Christmas time. Written by award-winning playwright Matthew Ryan and directed by K-M Doyle, the Australian Christmas comedy is set to bring the house down at the Milton Theatre in November. It is an hilarious contemporary play that examines family relationships, loneliness, love, self confidence, and battles with neighbours, all through the context of a Christmas lights competition. Old-fashioned battler Bob has just lost his job, his neighbour Eugene is in serious debt after the arrival of his mail-order bride and the snobs across the road are desperate to buy a beachfront apartment. When they discover the grand prize in the Christmas Lights competition could solve their money problems, it means war! Youngsters Tyler Thoroughgood as Foster and Crystal Moore as Mrs Leopold will join Follies newcomer, although seasoned performer, Glenn Ellard as Bob on the stage. Suzanne Sayers as Svetlana, Elissa Skinner as Marti and Llloyd McDonald as Gustav will each take on their second Follies role after wowing audiences in this year’s production of Badjelly the Witch. No strangers to the Milton stage are Daniel Costello playing King Ludwig, Rachel Tidbury as Demoiselle and the ever-popular Gaven Dorrell as Eugene. Summer Wonderland will be performed at the Milton Theatre on November 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16. Tickets are $25 and available from Country Leather in Milton.
