Director Pine / All in the Family Sault Ste. Marie, MI…Director Pine has a sore spot when it comes to the name of her family of origin. She threatens tribal members with law suits when they mention it in connection with a wrongdoing, where money has been stolen, an office has been abused or there’s evidence of nepotism. She has threatened at least three tribal members and the likelihood is that there will be more. Recently a tribal member said that Pine quit her job with the tribe and ran for a board seat to restore the name of her family of origin. Well, if that’s the case, she has made a mess of it. Since being elected Pine has drawn attention to herself with two allegation of using of her office for her own personal gain, or for the gain of her family. It seems that corruption swirls around Pine. With elections on the horizon, she’s been working the traditional and the big family vote. There’s little doubt that her campaign among them will result in additional corruption. Instead of promoting a system of fairness for them, she is upholding their old traditions of gaining a position of favor with her…which adds to the jealousy, greed, arrogance, and selfishness of our tribal communities.
