Director, Public Accountancy Sector Division Responsibilities You will direct and oversee the operations of the Professional Oversight Department (P6D), Practice Monitoring Department (PMD) and Strategy and External Relations Department (SERD) in the regulation and facilitation of development of the public accountancy sector in Singapore. Your responsibilities will broadly include the following: • Ensure client fulfils the role as national regulator of public accountants so as to achieve a high level of professional standard • Ensure the proper registration of qualifying public accountants and public accounting entities • Ensure that professional misconduct of public accountants are properly dealt with, ensuring a high level of professional standard • Ensure the Practice Monitoring Programme (PMP) is effective in ensuring compliance with professional standards and promotion of high quality audit • Ensure that special investigations are carried out so that appropriate enforcement action may be taken on serious non-compliance of professional standards • Enable client to play the role of facilitator for the development of the public accountancy profession • Drive the development of the capabilities, competencies and expertise of the staff in the departments Requirements • Good Degree in Accountancy with 10 years of relevant experience in external auditing experience at senior manager level in public accountancy firms • At least 6 years of supervisory experience and strong knowledge in risk management or quality assurance • Ability to articulate technical issues to non-technical persons • Experience in engaging with senior personnel (e.g. company directors, managing partners) • Good writing and presentation skills are essential If you feel that you are what we are looking for, kindly send in your resume in MS Words to Geetika at [email protected] stating your availability and salary expectations.
