Director of Pastoral Care Steve Brown shared the following devotional with us this morning. What a joy it is to know Jesus can mend our broken pieces. Mark 14:3 says, “She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his (Jesus’) head.” When we buy something we want it to work. You never hear someone ask for something that is broken! But with God, it’s the broken ones that can be most effective. Is this one of your “broken” days? Have you come to work feeling broken in body, mind, or spirit because of worry, bitterness, anger, or frustration? Take heart, it may become a special day of both blessing and being blessed. The perfume touched the head of Christ and the fragrance reached beyond to others. All were blessed because of a surrendered brokenness. May we pray? Lord, we place our “brokenness” in Your hands. Handle the pieces gently, Lord, and allow Your soothing Spirit to flow through and from me to others in need of Your healing balm. In your holy name we pray.— Amen.
