Disagreeing or disagreeable? In discussing doctrinal differences - TopicsExpress

Disagreeing or disagreeable? In discussing doctrinal differences my thought is he (or she) that has the best Biblical case wins. Having said that, I realize some find their view more convincing that others views. But Paul said when we disagree on non-essentials (doctrines that are not foundational) we need to be firmly convinced in our own minds and walk in love. In some discussions Ive been involved in on Facebook some respond with angry name-calling and outrage. My thought is if your position is solidly based on Scripture, why does it make you mad if someone disagrees? But if you have just accepted a popular view and never researched it yourself and when challenged you are outraged, this might indicate you need to study it out for yourself. Religious anger is not one of the fruit of the Spirit! So, if you are going to challenge me, do it politely and with respect and I will treat you the same.
