Disappointed, but not deterred, by todays Michigan Court of Appeals decision to overturn the original Ingham County Court ruling that held the MCCA accountable to the Freedom of Information Act. The Appeals Court decision, according to our legal team, is fraught with palpable errors. Essentially, todays ruling means that the MCCA retains its right to absolute secrecy in setting their annual vehicle fee rate. Michigan consumers have no verifiable information to ensure theyre being charged fairly for their annual vehicle fee (currently at $186 per vehicle). We (in conjunction with CPAN) will be filing a Motion to Reconsider with the Appeals Court. Stay tuned...
