Disappointed once again by a highly contaminated pen bin at NUHS. Weve attempted to move the bin to a more secure location (staff lounge) and even sent out an emailer to the staff to highlight the problem. Weve now removed the pen bin from this location since the community here is clearly not capable of responsible use of the bin. Whats most frustrating is that the bin was full of used pens donated by well-meaning folks who want to support the project. Each full bin can collect up to 1,000 pens, and in this case, we had to junk literally hundreds of pens because they were contaminated with coffee, used tissue paper, cigarette butts, biscuit crumbs, etc. and the bin emitted a foul smell when we opened it.
