Disappointing! As netizen Gary Tay says, Adenan is just “long on preaching but short on practising”. He has failed! Rafizi-Ibrahim: Adenan will explain decision April 25, 2014 KUCHING: Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem said that he will respond to questions over his decision to bar opposition leaders and allow Umno and Perkasa leaders only in the State Legislative Assembly sitting next month. Adenan said he was aware of the buzz on the internet and comments about the state government prohibiting certain people from entering. “Some said why only opposition leaders not Barisan people are stopped from entering the state. “I will address this matter in the coming sitting of the State Assembly in May,” Adenan told reporters here yesterday. On Monday PKR strategy leaders Rafizi Ramli was again barred from entering Sarawak. He was turned away at the Kuching International Airport by immigration officials who said it was a directive from the top. Rafizi alongwith four other PKR leaders were also barred from entering Sarawak during in the runup to the Balingian by-election. Ironically it was reported that former Perkasa deputy president and known racist Zulkifly Nordin was allegedly allowed in on Saturday prior to Rafizi’s latest bid to enter Sarawak. There however has been no further reports on Zulkifly’s entry. Earlier this month known bigot Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali was in Kuching as a guest of Persatuan Kebangsaan Melayu Sarawak much to the anger of netizens. The double standard practiced by Adenan who had declared during the Balingian by-election that Sarawak will bar ”religious bigots, communal racists and troublemakers” from entering the state, has irked local netizens. Venting their disappointment and anger at Adenan on the Sarawak Sovereignty Movement (SSM) Facebook page, they have among others urged him “to be firm and not to kow-tow to Umno” and to “stop pretending not to allow racists into the state”. One netizen, Gary Tay summed the general mood when he said Adenan was “long on preaching but short on practising”.
