Disappointment...Zane is not a match. We have started a search in the bone marrow banks for an unrelated donor and in the meantime we are in contact with Be the Match to start the process of setting up several drives. I anticipate doing them in the following cities: Carpinteria, Ventura, Los Angeles, Chicago and Toronto but we will see what they say. Friday is when we found out and we were crushed. I didnt realize how much I was clinging to the hope that Zane was a match. To sum it up in one word - devastation. Now - after processing it - I am in a better place. Hundreds of transplants are successful with unrelated donors and the number of donors is growing everyday - we will find a match. I try to see the positive in everything. We have so many people willing to help and have a huge network throughout the continent - what if the people we get to sign up to be donors help not only Magnus to find a match but maybe some other child out there as well. Maybe this is a way we can help save one more life... Magnus is doing much better. The sores have all but disappeared and for the past 3 days he has been eating non-stop and I mean non-stop!
