Disapproval does not mean hate, and more importantly: approval does not mean love. Leveraging your self esteem against whether somebody approves of your choices is emotional blackmail! Ultimatums of love betray a misunderstanding of the word. We need not give in. We must not give in. Tiptoeing around peoples sensitivities only gives power to sensationalism and emotional reasoning; it empowers manipulation and those who prey upon the pity of the charitable. It bolsters up the social paradigm of moral relativism, weakening our faith in Eternal Truth.
