Disclaimer: I have never met Shayan Tahir or ordered any item from Homeshopping but know people who did. The admins of this group need to intervene to either close or delete the HSN thread. It started off with one customer complaint followed by few more. The owner- Shayaan- participated in thread to allay customers concerns. While I agree that Shayan might not have adopted the best approach to engage, he is responding. E-commerce is still in its infacy and issues do occur. Look at giants like Flipkart, Snapdeal and Jabong in India and you will understand the magnitude of issues facing them. It is responsibility of companies to listen to customers and make efforts to rectify their issues. But, customer still has every right to raise his voice on social media platforms and engage in a discussion. But, it is not okay for someone who may very well be competitors or disgruntled ex-employees to tarnish a companys and its founders image. One cannot use a controlled public platform to pursue personal vendetta. I urge the admins to please review the thread and take swift action. At the same time, it will be appreciable if a set of rules are introduced to define parameters for posting reviews- one cant be allowed to post demeaning and defamatory remarks about any entity with an unsubstantiated story. This is a great community of people which has helped many of us and thanks to admins for creating it. The members of this community can contribute to creation of more solid rules.
