Disclaimer. Im not bashing Black Friday Shopping! Just an observation and food for thought. I worked in retail for years and I never understood why people camp out for days or hours for a deal or the next hot item in anticipation of Black Friday shopping. How amazing that we can sacrifice our time, energy, resources and warmth for such experience, but we find it hard to wake up on Sunday mornings to be at church on time to worship and fellowship with the body of Christ. John 19:31-34(NIV) 31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. 32 The soldiers came to break the legs of Jesus, and the others. 33 When they came Jesus was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. Luke 23:44-45(NIV) 44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
