Discover reported adjusted net income of $553 million, or $1.19 a share, on revenue of $2.037 billion. The consensus estimate called for Discover to report earnings of $1.30 a share on revenue of $2.2 billion. In the fourth quarter last year, the company posted earnings of $1.23 a share, which beat the consensus estimate of $1.18 a share, according to analysts polled by Thomson Reuters. Revenue totaled $2.129 billion, which surpassed analysts expectations of $2.106 billion. In the third quarter of 2014, Discover posted EPS of $1.37, which beat the consensus estimate of $1.34 a share. Revenue totaled $2.19 billion, which came up just short of analysts expectations of $2.197 billion.
