Discovering And Treating Dairy Sensitivity: What is a dairy sensitivity? Dairy sensitivity is not the same as an allergy from dairy, nor is it any kind of lactose intolerance. However, all of these have some common symptoms, which may lead to confusion. Lactose is a type of sugar, which is found in dairy products, and for a person to be allergic or intolerant, it would require an insufficient amount of lactase enzymes to reduce it. While lactose is a sugar, which is found in milk products and can be a major cause for the dairy sensitivity. Dairy sensitivity can also be described in terms of irritation caused by any milk products such as chocolates, cheese, starch etc. You can also check for allergies by conducting various tests like eliminating certain food items from the diet or repeating a certain cycle of food items to check for any irritation or discomfort. Sometimes people have multiple allergies from eggs, gluten and milk products. In these cases it is important to repeat the diet elimination plan for a couple of weeks to find the right cause of your allergy. Treatment The major treatment for dairy sensitivity comes in form of enzymes that help to break down the sugar and regulate the sugar flow of blood. It is also highly important to make up for the calcium loss due to restricted dairy consumption. This can be done by consuming a lot of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in calcium, but contain very little amount of allergy causing sugar. A regulated amount of enzymes can be artificially induced into your blood stream, to regulate the allergy causing agents. Also, the person should avoid any kind of milk products or food items which are a source of gluten.
