Discovering the Bible: When a close examination of the Bible takes place in the light of the Noble Quranic Verses some of the truth that have survived in the Bible, is discovered. А- The act of praying (the differences was in its details and timing): ♦ In( The Old Testament) Numbers 20:6- …. And they {Moses & Aaron} fell upon their faces, and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them. ♦ In( The Old Testament) Joshua 5:14- … And Joshua fell upon his face to the earth and did worship. ♦ In (The Old Testament) Nehemiah 8:6- And Ezra blessed the Lord, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground. ♦ In (The New Testament) Matthew26:39- And he {i.e., Jesus} went a little further and fell upon his face and prayed… ♦ In (The New Testament) Mark 14:35- And he (i.e., Jesus) went forward a little and fell upon the ground and prayed… Muhammad {P.B.u.h.} taught the Muslims to pray similarily, as shown in Surah AlHajj 22/77: O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good, that you may succeed. Note: 1- Prayer links man to Allah, since it enhances the rememberance of Allah in mans mind and heart. 2- Prayer supports the Monothistic belief in Allah The Almighty. ♦The Azan for announcing the prayer was prophesied in: (The Old Testament) Zephaniah 3:9 Yes, at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call on the name of the Lord and serve him with one accord. В- Fasting:The previous Prophets (pbut) used to fast. ♦ In(The Old Testament) Jeremiah 36:6- :fasting had a special day:- So you go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the LORD that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in their towns. ♦ In (The Old Testament) Zachariah 8:19 some fasting months were mentioned:- This is what the Lord Almighty says: the fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah. Therefore love truth and peace. ♦ In (The New Testament) Matthew 4:2- And he fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was hungry. Prophet Muhammads {P.B.u.h.} message came to complete the fasting in Surah AlBaqarah 2/183 O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.
