** Discussion Topic ** There seems to be much concern over the militarization of the police, and I have repeatedly said it is not happening, what you are seeing is the modernization of police in terms of gear. I seem to have a pretty split group of folks who follow this page, between cops and non-cops, so this might prove to be interesting. I am going to be away from the computer for most of the day, so I will leave you folks to talk amongst yourselves. With that in mind, stay civil and polite. When I check in from time to time, anyone I see name calling or acting like a general jackass will be banned (which unfortunately by default means their comments will be deleted too). The questions I pose are: 1) Do you think that the police are being militarized? 1A) If yes, why do you say that? Is it the gear, the tactics, or what? 1B) If no, please explain why you disagree with that claim. 2) No matter how you answered the first question, what do you think can be done to resolve the issue/image?
