Distressing Story, Could this Happen to you?: ( Baby ) Brenton was born prematurely and failed to gain weight after birth. After consulting with the pediatrics office and her own research, she eventually found a specific formula to help him gain weight. This must sound like a negligent parent, right? The night before the incident, Stephanie consoled her crying baby’s needs by patting his bottom while he became more rested on his stomach. Following this, Stephanie and Brenton went to sleep. The next morning, Stephanie Sharman lost her son. Forever, her life was changed. As expected by our local law enforcement and “elected” officials, this case was investigated. Stephanie was initially told that her son’s death was due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Though this could never heal the pain she was dealing with, she was familiar with this term. Stephanie was considered a potential “SIDS” case by doctors when she was an infant, having stayed on a heart monitor the first nine months of her life. Attempting to embrace the death of her son, she continued to live life.
