District Apostle (retired) Klaus SAUR passed away entirely unexpectedly yesterday, Tuesday, 29 July 2014, at the age of 74 years. The Chief Apostle will carry out the funeral ceremony in Karlsruhe-Central on Saturday, 9 August 2014, at 11:00h. Here a few details out of the biography of the retired District Apostle Saur: 06/03/1940 born in Engen, Germany 08/06/1959 Holy Sealing by Apostle Hahn 01/15/1961 Sub-Deacon 10/18/1970 Priest 01/18/1976 Community Evangelist 11/21/1976 District Evangelist 09/19/1979 Bishop 04/19/1981 Ordination as District Apostle by Chief Apostle H. Urwyler in Eppelheim/Baden for the Apostle District of Karlsruhe 04/23/2006 Retirement by Chief Apostle W. Leber in Karlsruhe Klaus SAUR has served as a minister for more than 45 years, 25 years of these as a District Apostle. In 1981 he was ordained as a District Apostle for the District of Baden. Later-on, he was entrusted with the Districts of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, where he min-istered for many years. On December 10, 1995 he was charged with the leadership of the then Apostle Districts of Baden, Wuerttemberg and Bavaria, which were later-on merged into the District Church of Southern Germany. Moreover, he has taken care of 30 countries in South East Europe, in the Gulf Region and in Africa. On the occasion of his retirement, Chief Apostle Leber wrote: “Considering the 45 years of his ministerial activity, we are astonished at the enormous and blessed work that has been performed. His attitude is just as striking as his outward appearance: upright, consistent, filled with a deep sending awareness, always in close connection with his bearers of bless-ing, in fatherly love devoted to the brothers and sisters, always attached to the Lord in faith-fulness and humility.“ We gladly include the bereaved in our sincere intercessions – in particular his wife Irmtraud, his son Ruediger and his daughter Elke – as well as all mourners. May the heavenly Father grant them much comfort, strength and confidence in these difficult hours of parting.
