District Four Construction Update Road Closure Notice: Six Flags Drive Six Flags Drive will be closed to thru traffic Monday, Feb. 16, through Friday, May 1, between Riverside Parkway and Six Flags Parkway. Six Flags Drive (Riverside Parkway to Six Flags Parkway) This upcoming project consists of minor widening, the addition of curb and gutter and construction of a five-foot wide sidewalk along the north side of Six Flags Drive, from Riverside Parkway to Six Flags Parkway. The project also includes signal improvements and the replacement of a triple 72-inch corrugated metal pipe culvert with a double seven-foot by six-foot concrete box culvert. Clay Road Sidewalks The contractor will work Saturday, Jan. 17, pouring curb and gutter. Lane closures are anticipated. EXPECT DELAYS. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday, Jan. 18. Austell Road to Mable Lake Drive – Monday, Jan. 19, through Wednesday, Jan. 23 Expect periodic lane closures 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with one lane remaining while the contractor continues installing storm drain and pouring sidewalks and curb and gutter. Utilities will be relocating services. EXPECT DELAYS Cooper Lake Road at King Springs Road This project consists of improvements in drainage, pedestrian access and traffic flow. Drainage will be addressed with additional curb and gutter and storm drain, while the gaps between existing sidewalks are filled in with new sidewalk. In addition, the pedestrian access across King Springs Road will be upgraded to improve safety and the existing eastbound left turn lane from Cooper Lake Road onto King Springs Road will be extended to improve traffic flow. This project is scheduled to start in March. Floyd Road – Veterans Memorial to Clay Road The contractor plans to work Saturday, Jan. 17, installing erosion control devices. Lane closures are anticipated. EXPECT DELAYS. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday, Jan. 18. Veterans Memorial to Clay Road – Monday, Jan. 19 through Friday, Jan. 23 Expect periodic lane closures 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with one lane remaining while the contractor begins installing erosion control devices. EXPECT DELAYS . Powder Springs Road at Cheatham Hill Road / Callaway Road The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Jan. 17-18. Monday, Jan. 19 through Friday, Jan. 23 Expect periodic lane closures 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Utilities will relocate services. EXPECT DELAYS. Queen Mill Road The contractor will work Saturday, Jan. 17, dressing shoulders and slopes. Lane closures are anticipated. EXPECT DELAYS. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday, Jan. 18. Monday, Jan. 19 through Friday, Jan. 23 Expect periodic lane closures 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor continues dressing shoulders and clean up work. EXPECT DELAYS. Six Flags Parkway at Lee Industrial Boulevard The contractor will work Saturday, Jan. 17, performing asphalt paving operations. Lane closures are anticipated. EXPECT DELAYS. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday, Jan. 18. Monday, Jan 19, through Friday, Jan. 23 Expect periodic lane closures 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor continues asphalt paving operations, grading, pouring curb, installing storm drain pipe and signal work. Utilities will be relocating services. EXPECT DELAYS
