District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mohali organized monthly lok adalat in all courts of Mohali, Kharar and Dera bassi, In total 1449 cases were taken up and 396 cases involving a sum of Rs.31,51,07,861/- were settled. Mohali 31 August (Jatinder Sabharwal) : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mohali organized monthly lok adalat in all courts of Mohali, Kharar and Dera bassi. Total six benches were constituted at Mohali and three benches each at Dera Bassi and Kharar. Cases of all kinds i.e. civil suits, matrimonial, cheque bouncing, land disputes etc. were taken up and disposed of in this lok adalat. In total 1449 cases were taken up and 396 cases involving a sum of Rs.31,51,07,861/- were settled. These cases were decrease from the pendency of cases in court. Not only the litigants but lawyers also took keen interest in success of this adlalat. Tarntaran Singh Bindra, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Mohali informed media persons that although three Additional District and Sessions Judges, posted at Mohali could not hold lok adalat today because there are on Computer training at Chandigarh Judicial Academy but despite that the disposal of cases is quite satisfactory. The parties to the litigation are now well aware of the benefits of lok adalats and they rather wait for these adalats so that their cases may be settled amicably. He further informed that monthly lok adalats are organized on every last working Saturday of month. He appealed general public and litigants in particular to avail benefits of lok adalats. In these adalats not only the matter is settled amicably and both parties leave the court in win-win situation but they also save their time and money. No appeal lies from decision of lok adalat and the dispute among the parties came to end for all times to come. Their court fee is also refunded when they settle their case in lok adalalt. In case any party wants to get his case settled in lok adalal, he may either file application in court where case is pending or he can approach office of Secretary, DLSA. He also requested media persons to make public aware of Toll Free Help Line (Number 1968) of Punjab Legal Services Authority which is available 24X7 and can be dialed at the time of necessity.
