Add these ones to the ones engaged in the same industry in the Middle East and ask the most important question: what is driving these women? Obviously, and rightly, the answer is poverty. Looks like the much hyped double digit economic growth Ethiopia has registered over a decade has left Ethiopian women behind. Individuals and organizations who are working on children womens rights, including on FGM, are largely banned in the country and now we have to depend on such rare and brave journalists from afar to expose these gross state of affairs in the heart of the nation.
