Divine Feelings (3) - Jeremiah 48:10; Matthew 25:24-30 As we continue on the study of divine feelings, I want to define divine feeling as feeling the same way over a matter or situation or society the same way that God feels over it. When you look at today’s text, you see the Lord saying cursed be anyone that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully. Some other versions say cursed is anyone that doeth the work of the Lord “half-heartedly,” “haphazardly,”“carelessly.”We are in the days and age where many Christians bring the chicken change of their lives to God, where they bring the remnant of their week to the kingdom, where they spend the bulk of their energy, strength and ability on things that do not directly contribute to the kingdom of God on the earth. But today, it is my prayer that you will desist from that evil. Anyone that will be great in the kingdom of God must bring superior attention, superior dedication, and superior energy to the work of God because the Bible says bodily exercise profiteth little, but godly exercise is profitable for this life and the life to come. The man that makes the work of God and the things of God of utmost importance would not just be someone that escapes this curse, but he/she would be somebody that has a reward both in this world and in the world to come. Check your heart you should not be an excellent person at work and be an irresponsible person in church. You should not be a very proactive salesman and then be somebody that cannot go on evangelism for God. It is very important to understand that all the things that God has given us are actually for His pleasure. Revelation 4:11 says “for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created”. The man that brings chicken change to the kingdom of God will not only incur a curse upon himself, he also stands at a risk of losing those abilities. When God saved you, He did not save you to come and sit in church on Sunday, but that through you, others will find their way to life so jack up yourself and dust yourself from that place of error and begin to bring your energies together, bring your abilities together, your training together to contribute to the work of God in your day so that the same Jesus Christ that saved you would be able to save others through a dutiful effort of yours from today. Prayer: Lord, forgive me for days I have done your work deceitfully, carelessly or half heartedly. From today, I make a decision to change, and I will spend my energy in the kingdom and God will be able to count on me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
