Dixie is DEFINITELY ready to be a service dog in training. Technically she is already doing the job of a service dog but needs a bit more public access work. She has her specific tasks and the other night we learned she has an even more valuable role! During the night, the batteries died on Mikes chemo pump but we were all sound asleep and since the pump was under the pillow no one heard the alarm. Dixie, however, did hear the alarm and she first woke up Mike and then woke up me. Changing the batteries didnt work at first and so she then went and woke up Elizabeth. Eventually, we got the pump working again and only then did she settle down. She is such a good dog! :-)
