Dixie was a owner surrender 3 weeks ago who within an hr of being in a kennel freaked out and caused major bleeding in our mouth. The next day she went in TOTAL shut down mode. This poor soul had truly given up on life. I think thats an ubderstatment. I tried effortlessly to help her daily. My dog trainer volunteered his time several days a week for weeks also working with her. He truly made a MIRACULOUSLY difference in getting her brain to move forward and teaching me to continue with her daily. She is a lab/retriever mix about 2 yrs old. These past 3 weeks have been such a huge improvement for her and watching her improve to becoming a happy and playful dog is the most rewarding thing EVER!!!! She is dog and cat approved. Dixie is still very fearful of ppl and would really really benefit continuing a 4 week rehabilitation/socializing training with Gary Adams with Natural Instincts who has made a huge difference. Pics are from day 1 to even doc spending time with her. This girl is also the one that has spent time with King as she laid her head on him. Several employees/volunteers have also been involved with attempting to gain her trust and also walk her. She is a very special girl to me and we all would love to see her in a forever home when she is ready.
