Do Animals Go To Heaven? 12/17/2014 0 Comments The Last Visit to the Vet For many, the time comes when we no longer want to see our beloved pets dealing from a terminal illness or old age disease, we broken-heartedly make that decision to humanely end their suffering. As a Veterinary Technician, I have seen this on a daily basis and this is a very sad time for the staff at your veterinary hospital; from the receptionist, veterinarian and all staff members who have come to know your pet and have helped you give them the best life possible. Each person is different in how they respond, and it is dependent on the compassionate staff at every veterinary hospital to make this as loving and tender as they can for each owner when that time comes. The option of staying with your pet during the procedure, making a keep sake ceramic paw print, or sending a sympathy card, are just some of the ways the staff will try to comfort and ease the pain. For all of us who have been through this, we wonder, do our pets go to heaven? What happens to them? Do they have a soul or spirit? Is there an after-life for them? Will we ever see them again? Is this the end of a long and faithful companion? Hopefully, this will help with any thoughts you may have had on this topic. It is my hope that it will bring some comfort to many who have gone through this experience at least once, or in some cases, many times during their lives. What God says about animals I believe based on Biblical Scripture that they do go to heaven; for God created animals and they are living souls and so have a spirit, and His Word says, that all living souls go to heaven. Here are some Scriptures that will help you understand how God views all living creatures and how carefully He has chosen to not only place them in our lives, but how He also cares for them when their earthly journey with us has ended. The lessor creatures (animals) await Christ’s return to redeem the son of God so they too, will be released from physical death to eternal life. Here are some Scripture verses and what God has to say about spirit, soul, and animals. Psalm 145:-9-10,13,15-21 AMP -Though all creatures are subject to mans cruelty, God loves all His creation and has made plans for all His children and the lesser creatures to enjoy His eternal Kingdom. Romans 8:21-22 KJV - Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Job 12:10 – In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. Ecclesiastes 3:21 TEV – “ How can anyone be sure that a mans spirit goes upward while an animals spirit goes down into the ground?” Job 12:9-10 KJV - The Book of Job says: Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Luke 3:6 – And all flesh shall see the salvation of God Genesis 9: 13-17 - I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between Me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. So God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant I have established between Me and all life on the earth. Revelation 5:13 ~ And EVERY creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and ALL that are in them, hear I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the lamb forever and ever. There are other Biblical accounts where God shows His favor upon the animals He created, such as the story of Noah’s Ark. God commanded Noah to gather two animals of each kind, to save them from the great flood. He decided to destroy the whole world in this flood, but found Noah to be a righteous man to complete this task. God has given us the gift of animals for many reasons, but I feel that the most important one is to know and understand the same unconditional love that He shows us. If He loves us AND animals this much, He has surely made a way for them to arrive in heaven. They are innocent creatures who can not sin. I would suggest a book written by Sonya Fitzpatrick, a very well-known animal psychic, titled “There Are No Sad Dogs in Heaven.” A wonderful collection of stories about pets and people who have come together again through Sonya’s abilities to hear and speak to animals that have passed over to heaven, and some which have even re-incarnated back to in the form of a new pet for some. While I have always believed that animals go to heaven, this book was assuring that what I believe, is true. Rejoice, for you will see your beloved pets again one day! RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
