It sure is awesome when you get recognition for the things you do, even when there is not possibility for recognition, because YOU still recognize the reasons you are putting the effort in but most of the time, it will not happen BUT YOU did it!! The honest view of yourself influences all that you do and that view is formed mainly during times when no one is watching. Your life is a living expression of who you know yourself to be and it does not matter what others see or think . Just do it. Do not be selfish and wait for recognition. Do it because its in your heart~
