Do I have any mechanic friends? Our 2001 Ford Taurus SE V6 is having an occasional problem with the idle. Happens rarely, but car still starts fine, just wont keep idle and dies. Have to hold down on gas to stay running. Accelerates fine. This has only happened twice in 3 months that weve had her. Yesterday lasted for about 90 minutes, then poof, was fine again. Cant be fuel or air filters, otherwise wouldve affected the acceleration too. First time was first day we had car. Lasted about 5 minutes, but much longer yesterday. I know how to fix on a carb, but not this one
