Do NOT buy Maltese or Maltese mixes without completely getting verification of the health of the breeding parents. One local breeder that was only advertising Maltese puppies for sale has all of a sudden changed his website to show only Yorkie puppies for sale. There is a high likelihood that he scattered the maltese amongst friends to sell online in classified ads or on Craigslist!!! Buyer Beware!!! If you buy dogs this way, you are contributing money to the puppy mill beast and it just continues the suffering of animals. Some of the middle men/women may seem like perfectly wonderful people who love animals, but if they are part of the irresponsible breeding and selling of purebred and designer breeds, then they are in it for the money! MONEY! Money above the wellbeing of the dog! If they dont ask you about how you plan to care for the dog and they just hand over a puppy for your money, you can bet that puppy you are getting had minimal if any vaccinations or vet care b/c that person wants to make money. If anyone wants to add a designer dog or purebred to you family, please contact me and I will be happy to direct you to those breeds in rescue and shelters that are waiting for adoption.
