Do YOU think that racism still exist in our country today? Have YOU taught your children to respect those in authority, and to obey the law? Do YOU fear ever becoming subject or a victim to police brutality? Do YOU think its okay to stand by and watch a loved one become a victim to a police officer abusing his authority? What would YOU do if you are being attached by an officer, and you know in your heart that you did nothing wrong? Would you fight back if your life depended on it? Do YOU believe an officers life is more important than that of yours or your loved ones? What do YOU think? Its different for a white child. Thats just the reality in this country, de Blasio said. And with Dante, very early on with my son, we said, look, if a police officer stops you, do everything he tells you to do, dont move suddenly, dont reach for your cell phone, because we knew, sadly, theres a greater chance it might be misinterpreted if it was a young man of color. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio on Sunday admonished former mayor Rudy Giuliani for his repeated recent comments that responsibility is on the black community for reducing the necessity of police officers in their communities. I think he fundamentally misunderstands the reality, said de Blasio on ABCs This Week. There is a problem here. There is a rift here that has to be overcome. You cannot look at the incident in Missouri; another incident in Cleveland, Ohio; and another incident in New York City all happening in the space of weeks and act like theres not a problem.
