Do You Really Trust God? I mean totally, completely trust - TopicsExpress

Do You Really Trust God? I mean totally, completely trust Him? Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you (Psalm 9:10). We so often throw the phrase, “I’m trusting God,” around without truly considering the depth of it’s meaning. Many times we repeat it out of habit or because it’s the “Christian” thing to say, making light of it. To fully, whole-heartedly, TRUST GOD FOR EVERYTHING, you have to go much deeper than just repeating the words. There has to be a confidence in your heart that He is reliable, that He’s trustworthy and that He’s faithful to deliver. When you say you “Trust God,” is that truly what you mean? When all hell is breaking loose around you, do you stress out, call it quits, get even, rebel, or get nasty? When things aren’t going right on your job, with your children, in your marriage, with other relationships, with your health, or in your finances, what’s your first response? When your back is against the wall and you don’t know which way to go or what to do, how do you respond? Do you truly trust God? What does trust mean? To trust is to rely on the integrity, the strength, the ability, to have surety and a certainty of a person or thing: to have confidence in a person on whom or thing on which one relies. To trust you have to first believe. You must have an assurance, a feeling of security. Trust implies instinctive, unquestioning belief in and reliance upon something. Confidence implies conscious trust because of good reasons, definite evidence, or past experience: to have confidence in the outcome of events. Assurance implies absolute confidence and certainty: to feel an assurance of victory. “Trusting God 4 Everything” is putting your total reliance in God for the outcome of whatever you need or face, at ALL times. It’s taking the natural focus off of handling things your way, responding in situations from your flesh and learning to be patient and waiting on God to move in your situation to get the best results. Prayer: Father, help us to truly understand what it means to trust you unconditionally. Help us to transform our way of thinking that we may learn to totally rely on you for everything. Help us to be mindful of our words, actions, and desires that we may not contradict our total trust and reliance in you. In Christ I pray. Amen.
