Do You Remember This Kirtan Album From 1972 ? It was 1975, and I got this album from the devotees at the Evanston / Chicago Temple. I used to listen to it everyday while I was living on the south side, trying to make up my mind whether I should surrender to Krsna, or to continue to sing the blues. I would listen to this record everyday and my attraction for kirtan kept increasing step by step. Someone else may know who the first singer is. Hansadutta Swamis distinctive voice is on the second track, singing Jayadeva Goswamis Dasa Avatara song. The album “Every Town & Village” was recorded at the 1972 San Francisco Rathayatra and New York temple, and was released in the same year by Golden Avatar Productions. - The title comes from a prediction made by Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu 500 years ago that the Holy Names one day would be chanted in every town and village throughout the world. It has been realized by the grace of the Hare Krishna movement of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who propagated the Hare Krishna mantra and science of Krishna consciousness all around the world.
