Do any of our moms have any tips for treating eczema? This mom has a question about what to use to treat her little girl... “Hi Im wondering if anyone can give me advice on what I can use to treat eczema. My lg developed it at 2 mths and is now 6 mths. It started as dry skin on her elbows but has now spread over her entire body including her scalp. Ive been to the GP with her numerous times since it has happened. Im currently using Silcocks base as a wash and have been given an emulsifying ointment as a moisturiser, but the emulsifier seemed to make her more red. I have washed her without using the emulsifier, in order to know which was flaring her skin up. My GP has decided to try Aqueous cream but Im having the same problem. I even went to the chemist yesterday as Im at my wits end, they suggested using the Aqueous cream as a wash and the Silcocks base as a moisturiser. When I was heading to bed, I checked on her and she had scratched her head so bad that it started to bleed. I have Fucibet cream to clear it up when it’s inflamed but dont like using harsh medication on a 6 month old. I have tried scratch mitts but she has mastered taking them off. She is also formula fed. Was on Aptamil but now on SMA as she struggled with wind and was constipated on Aptimil. I’m not sure if switching her formula has anything to do with it as I can’t remember if this started before I switched her formula. Could anyone give me advice on what I could use and where I can buy it? It would be greatly appreciated. TIA”
