Do it faster! Why take so long – concentrate and get the job done. For as long as I can remember, I have pushed for tasks to be completed faster. Queue the moaning from people who like to take things slower…they don’t last long with me because I can’t bear to wait longer than necessary. You need to work with people who have similar approaches or who are prepared to make the change and adapt to your style. There’s no time to waste, life can be short, so grasp the opportunity now and run with it…push, push, push to reach your goal. I’m not saying you should rush things – that would not be good, but so often things take so long…they just drag endlessly on, for no real reason. I used to run a series of shows called Fast and Furious – these were the best shows ever if you are into cars – and we were partnered with the UK national newspaper, The Sun. Apart from the page three girls costing me a fortune in drinks (that’s another story!), I was always impressed by the speed that The Sun worked – they turn work around at phenomenal pace, make quick decisions and produce a full edition every single day…that’s impressive speed of turnaround. It’s this experience that showed me that it’s completely possible to work faster, yet still keep quality high – there is no excuse for slow work and if you want to prosper, you need to ensure that you are as productive as possible.
