Do me a favor. Anyone who has known me for more than 2 years take a step back and look at me. I have changed. I have had to mature. Im not that scared kid who doesnt know how to deal with her emotions anymore. I am a grown woman who is taking her life into her own hands. I am not my past. I am not my mistakes. I am Christin. I have lived on my own the past three months and guess what Im not dead in a gutter, im not homeless, i havent gotten arrested, I pay my bills on time, I am succeeding in living. Its not a huge accomplishment for most but think back to the girl you all used to know. The girl who stole and was always angry the girl who hated getting out of her room because that meant she had to talk to people the girl who didnt even like herself. No one thought i was going to make it. But here I am. Dont say I havent changed because I have proven that i have. I proved it everyday I went to work. I proved it when I got accepted into college. I will prove it when I move in to my dorms in ten days. The fact that Im not moving in with the family that raised me is a reminder of my mistakes but its also a driving force that will make me that much more determined to succeed. Because i am not that 12 year old kid that is angry, and afraid and shy and unsociable. I was always told I was too damaged. I worked my ass off to become who i am today and NO ONE can take that from me. I dont want you to read this and be proud of me, I just want to let everyone know that I am proud of myself. Thats all I need,
