Do not confuse love and attention. Sometimes a person might give you too much attention and end up being too clingy or being abusive. It may often happen that someone loves what you do for them. It is virtually impossible to be truly happy when you are constantly yearning for attention. Since you are always looking for attention you end up always being at the mercy of another individual. Apparently people tend to do stupid things due to their attention seeking behavior. If you are not clingy and attention seeking, you will be happier and chances are that you will find true love. It is said people who confuse love and attention dont find true love. It is best to love someone for who they are, rather than for what they do for you. Such love will be endless love that will stand the test of time.
