Do not deify any race, culture, religion or society. Look at the historical perspective of each of those. Any one of them in the past, at some point in time, were either despicable or amazing. Sometimes in the far past, recent past or currently. Nobody, nor anything is fit to cast the first stone. If you must judge something, judge it by what they have done (or not done) within the historical perspective of your generation, and the here and now. Canada in my generation has been more or less honourable and admirable, a nation that others held in high esteem. However under the current government is has been despicable and an embarrassment. Search the historical past of any group that you put on a pedestal, and you are likely to discover that it has feet of clay at best and feet of wet mud at worst (or no feet at all). And as in the example of Canada, what was once admirable may now be despicable. So when I am (or anyone is) goring your particular ox, perhaps search with an open mind and see if there is not some truth. And see if your ox is really deserving of the high praise you give it, at least from a historical perspective. If you are not interested enough to search for the facts, then it is not incumbent on me to try to teach you, and even if I tried it likely would not make any difference. One of the hardest things in the world to open is a closed mind.
