Do not embed Confucius Institutes into African Universities: I have been advising Africans whenever I get the opportunity not to embed Confucius Institutes into our African universities but no one seems to listen to me at the moment. The issue is not that we should not welcome Confucius Institutes to Africa but that we should welcome them as INDEPENDENT, stand-alone cultural institutions. If African universities are listening please do not embed Confucius Institutes into African universities. The AU and the various African governments should debate this and enact a law, coming to an agreement with China to establish Confucius Institutes only as independent cultural and educational institutions in Africa.
