Do not fret; put your trust in God, because He will not fail you or the world. Perhaps a controversial statement for some who have not received answers to prayer that they expected. This however is tempered by us not knowing or understanding God’s wisdom or the freedom and the dominion He has given us over our world and relationships. I have been reading about the Exodus film and thinking about the implications of the flood narrative; we often say or think ‘why does God not do anything?’, as if it’s His fault. When He does, or continues to allow us dominion over ourselves and our world, we accuse Him of being crueler than ourselves (humanity), hmmm … Bible Reading - Psalm 37:3-6,32-33 Noli aemulari (Do not fret) 3 Put your trust in the LORD and do good; * dwell in the land and feed on its riches. 4 Take delight in the LORD, * and he shall give you your hearts desire. 5 Commit your way to the LORD and put your trust in him, * and he will bring it to pass. 6 He will make your righteousness as clear as the light * and your just dealing as the noonday. 32 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, * and their tongue speaks what is right. 33 The law of their God is in their heart, * and their footsteps shall not falter.
