Do not ignore Christ. Whatever it is that you may be doing: sweeping the floor, balancing numbers, riding a bus, writing a thesis, waiting for someone, teaching a course, talking with a friend, travelling to other places, etc. Though your hands, feet and mind are preoccupied, in the eyes of your heart, behold Jesus always before you. Remind yourself that the labor of your hands, the services of your skills and the sacrifices of your knowledge, are an offering for Him and they are for his glory and a contribution to the healing of the earth. Here there is no longer secular-sacred notion of vocation. Rather, everything becomes sacred when done in the name of and for the love of the Lord.The difference between secular and sacred is that those who see Christ behold the surrounding alight with the glory of God and they take off their shoes. They discern the sacred.
