Do not watch the new Jimi Hendrix biopic ( All Is By My Side). As a Jimi Hendrix fan I warn you against it. Please read below as to why you should NOT watch it... When I heard there was a new Jimi Hendrix biopic coming out, I was a little uncertain on how accurate it would be. I researched information about the biopic, I found information that confirmed my suspicions. First of all, They never got the rights from the Jimi Hendrix estate. Meaning there’s no actual Jimi Hendrix music in the biopic. So then why even bother making a documentary about a musician if you cant use their music? This is not just any musician, this is the one and only Jimi Hendrix. The worlds greatest guitarist to have ever lived, the man who redefined the guitar and music. I researched the biopic even farther. I’m very disgusted with what I found. I will never watch this biopic... Ever!!! The whole biopic is just wrong. Obviously, not having any of Jimis music is not a good start, It gets worse. The biopic portrays Jimi Hendrix beating up his girlfriend Kathy Etchingham. Jimi Never beat up Kathy or any woman for that matter, Kathy Etchingham is alive and well and has denounced this horrible offense to Jimi Hendrix’s memory. Why would they do this? Why would anyone do this? Do they think this will make the biopic more marketable or interesting? Do they think they have a right to do that? Maybe their lawyers informed them they have the legal right to do so, as if its free speech or something. As a Jimi Hendrix fan myself I completely reject that. I have no idea what retarded decision making process was behind this biopic. I can’t let it stand. Jimi was an absolute sweetheart, everyone who knew him says so. Why the Hell would anyone rewrite him as someone who was violent and abusive to his girlfriend? The director and writers should feel ashamed. Jimi Hendrix lived a life which ended way too soon. In the short time he lived he became an idol to millions. Jimi Hendrix is not like some mystery man, this is not a Robert Johnson who is difficult to research. Jimi Hendrix’s life and career are very extensively documented in every kind of media. There are thousands of credible articles and interviews with his family and friends. There are books, footage, and even postcards. This is just not a person you need to make stuff up about. Was he not interesting enough? That they have to make him sound violent to the woman he wrote (Foxy Lady) and (The Wind Cries Mary) about, just to sell more tickets for a false and insulting biopic? Do the writers and director have nothing better to do? Is anything safe from stupid, heartless and greedy people? The more I think about it, the more I get furious. Don’t give them a penny, dont even watch the biopic online for free. Point is, dont watch it at all. Especially if youre a Jimi Hendrix fan. I truly hope they get properly sued for character defamation or whatever may stick. I’m no lawyer. but its Jimi Hendrix, They slandered his name, his image and his person. They also have insulted millions of fans. If you want to watch a good documentary about the real Jimi Hendrix, then go watch (Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin) Its on Netflix. If you dont have Netflix then there are many you could look for and find online. Just dont watch the new biopic. Go listen to Jimi Hendrixs music. Watch some live footage. Experience the real Jimi Hendrix.
