Do share on reading: The article in the Saamana has been completely misconstrued and twisted by some of the media with wrong translations. The simple meaning derived from the article is that if the Maharashtrian and the Gujarati community leaders see themselves as belonging to Maharashtra and unite for its progress, no one can stop the state and the two communities. There has been no lashing out at anyone, and infact urges for a common identity and realization of the janma bhoomi and karma bhoomi of many generations of Gujaratis- Mumbai The party believes that the Gujarati community of Maharashtra has always stood behind Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray, and their love for him has been evident, and behind Uddhav ji Thackeray and me. Equally we have stood behind Gujarat in times of need such as the Bhuj earthquake, to rebuild homes and schools and the Narmada Project that benefits both Gujarat and Maharashtra. We dont see the Gujarati Community as separate from being first being Mumbaikars. They have felt safe and prospered the most under the Shiv Sena- BJP govt of 1995-1999. These Lok Sabha elections saw a unity of various communities like those of Gujaratis, Marwadis, Punjabis and many more, to stand behind Shiv Sena in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan. They have wholeheartedly supported and put in efforts for the party to raise the voice of Maharashtra in Delhi and they shall be adequately voiced in Delhi as those belonging and one with Maharashtra. There will be efforts made to break this unity, in various ways, by various people, it is we who should realize that and move towards a greater strengthening of our bond and love.
