Do they have a reservation policy even for Nobel peace - TopicsExpress

Do they have a reservation policy even for Nobel peace prizes? Today Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzay were jointly awarded Nobel peace prize. Most of us would not have heard of Kailash though he seemed to have done some work. His selection as it appears is not for the work he has done, but to cast India of problems in Human Rights. OK! You can still justify his prize with many of his contributions to the society. But how Malala was picked is the real question? Malala is really not an activist. She was in fact a victim. She was just one of the many victims in Pakistan, who incidentally got the attention of western media. She was later trained and retained in the western media as a symbol of Human Rights violations. But what is her contribution to the Pakistan society? Could she bring about any change there? Then why is she picked for this highest honor in the world? In spite of the special interests in giving the award to an Indian, the west obviously did not want India to walk away with any fame and so they had to dilute it. So Indias rival, a Pakistani is hand-picked as a counter-balance. Plus she has the Muslim quota, women quota. What else?
