Do we see Lord Shiva as a real being who exists everywhere? Do - TopicsExpress

Do we see Lord Shiva as a real being who exists everywhere? Do we see Lord Shiva as a real being in the statues we worship? If we see Lord Shiva as a real being in the statues we worship, then why do we let some temples close and lock a gate after worship hours? Isnt that similar to imprisoning Lord Shiva? Arent we then treating Lord Shiva as an object when we keep the statue or the lingam in a closed cabinet? The statue and Lingam of Lord Shiva is of the same elements found everywhere in the universe. Some of these might have better vibrations, or better contents, but they are all essentially part and parcel of this planet. We are able to channel our worship through something physical, but this is not mandatory. One who treats everyone, everything, as part of Lord Shiva is indeed performing the same service as one would when going to a temple. One who EMULATES Lord Shiva through Shaivism - a quest towards enlightenment as well as respect for everyone, is indeed performing to that what makes Lord Shiva happy. I would like everyone here to reflect on their own actions. How many of us have done Lord Shiva disservice by cursing or hurting someone else? How many of us are causing disservice to Lord Shiva by not giving respect to the other gender? I would like everyone to reflect on this. We have a lot of Bhaktis who indeed live the values and virtues of Lord Shiva, but at the same time, there are a lot of hypocrites. Let us reflect upon ourselves. The best first step is to admit our own faults, rather than defend them as right. How else can we move on and be better? Om Namah Shiva
