Do you direct a band or wind ensemble, or play in one? “Quintapade” is “an odd-meter escapade for concert band,” a moderately easy piece mostly in 5/4 time. The piece begins with a lyrical, flowing first section that bursts into a rousing, more staccato and rhythmic second section. The piece then ends in a spirited climax. Quintapade percussion instruments include bells, xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, guiro, crash cymbals, suspended cymbal, and tambourine. Listen to Quintapade and follow the score here: youtu.be/gk6-fLkpwdY. Im eager to hear a polished live performance of this piece! If you provide such an mp3 and I submit it to a publisher, if the piece is published, I will ask the publisher to include a dedication to the conductor and group on the published score and parts.
